3 Day Guys Getaway to Mexico City (CDMX)

Mexico City, a sprawling metropolis that effortlessly mixes the ancient with the ultramodern, is the perfect playground for an unforgettable guys getaway. Whether you’re drawn to the thrill of live sports, the allure of ancient civilizations, or the intrigue of world-renowned museums, Mexico City has you covered. Let’s map out the ultimate trip that combines the excitement of a Lucha Libre fight, the awe-inspiring pyramids, and the cultural riches of the Museum of Anthropology.

Day 1: Dive into the World of Lucha Libre

Start your adventure by diving headfirst into one of Mexico’s most vibrant and second-most popular sports: Lucha Libre. This isn’t just wrestling; it’s a high-flying, mask-wearing performance deeply ingrained in Mexican culture. Head to the Arena México, the mecca of Lucha Libre, where the atmosphere is electric, and the action is non-stop. Cheer on your favorite luchadores (wrestlers) as they perform impressive acrobatic moves, all while donning colorful masks and personas. For a truly immersive experience, pick up a replica mask of your favorite wrestler as a souvenir. Here’s our favorite Lucha Libre, tacos and mexcal tour.

Day 2: Step Back in Time at the Pyramids of Teotihuacán

No guys’ getaway to Mexico City would be complete without a day trip to the ancient city of Teotihuacán, located just an hour’s drive from the city center. As you approach the site, the imposing Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon dominate the landscape, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of this once-thriving metropolis. Hiring a guide can provide valuable context, making the history of this mysterious civilization come alive. Here’s our favorite guided Teotihuacán tour.  After exploring, relax at a nearby restaurant to enjoy local dishes and reflect on the day’s adventures.

Day 3: Cultural Immersion at the National Museum of Anthropology

Dedicate your last day to exploring the world-famous Museum of Anthropology, a treasure trove of artifacts from Mexico’s pre-Columbian heritage. As one of the most important museums in Latin America, it offers an in-depth look at the diverse cultures that have shaped Mexico. Highlights include the Aztec Sun Stone and the recreation of Pakal’s tomb from Palenque. The museum is not just a learning experience; it’s a chance to connect with the rich tapestry of Mexico’s past.

A guys’ getaway to Mexico City offers adrenaline-pumping action, awe-inspiring history, and cultural enlightenment. From the exhilarating spectacle of Lucha Libre to the ancient majesty of Teotihuacán’s pyramids and the deep cultural insights of the National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City presents an adventure that’s as varied as it is unforgettable. So, gather your crew, pack your bags, and prepare to embark on a journey that will leave you with stories to tell for years.
